Any suggestions on websites that help someone research a state they are interested in moving to, ie.

My husband and I need info on how to research job availability, real estate, school systems. We live in Nevada and would like to move to a state that is slower-paced and more value-oriented. He is a carpenter and I am a school teacher. We have a large family and simply cannot afford the house prices in this state. Even if we could afford a home here the school system is rated low and crime is rapidly on the rise. We would like to settle in a state with a decent economy and where our children have a higher chance at succeeding. We are a warm family with good morals and we have been taken advatage of a time or three because we are too trusting. We would like to live in a neighborhood where the neighbors wave at one another and feel comfortable coming over to ask for help. We%26#039;re well educated but not well traveled and can%26#039;t spend time or money visiting states so have to rely heavily on the internet for information. We heard LA (state) is nice / people r moving back in to rebuild?

Any suggestions on websites that help someone research a state they are interested in moving to, ie. jobs, etc

homefair.com will help you figure out for certain cities and towns what your living expenses will be like vs. your current location, as well as provide some crime statistics.

Once you decide on a location based on it%26#039;s resume, and you are reasonably sure you%26#039;ll be able to support yourselves there, please consider doing short term housing for a year (rent if you normally buy, etc), so that you can then find time to scope out the neighbourhoods with the characteristics that you really want.

Good Luck!
