AP or IB Program?

Ok so i am in the eighth grade and i have to chose between two schools one school has AP the other has IB

As of now i am in the Pre-IB Program and i am the top student

But here is the catch

The IB high school is very poor and located in the ghetto. the school is somewhat split between General and IB. The IB program is wonderful . but there are very few extra ciricular activities and it is a D rated school (due to the general) A lot of bad people go there but they don%26#039;t really intermix. i heard the program has plenty of benefits but it is all self study the whole year. the teachers don%26#039;t teach at all. but it has IB and i like the Pre-IB.

Now the school with the AP program is very rich. They have everything and is a A-B rated school. But it is AP and i really like challenging schools. But this school has better teachers.

But i have never experienced the AP program so i can%26#039;t say i like IB more

i want to become an engineer or doctor. so what school and why?

wow. well i chose IB over AP. I currently go to a school that is a lot older and dirtier than the alternative school I could have chosen (with AP). so our situations are very similar. i can tell you that i have no regrets choosing IB. though AP is good, IB basically writes you your own ticket to college. if you are ethnic (hispanic, asian) colleges are much easier to get into. so if this is the case, you could choose AP and do fine and get into a good college. for me i am white, so i chose IB. and honestly, highschool isnt a huge part of your life. sure your suppose to remember great times in highschool, but you will have more when you are accepted to good college. then youll be with your equally intelligent peers, and thats when the memorable times begin. hope i could help. good luck!

When you get to university the university will rate you based on what school you went to and the rating of your school, so that can determine wheather you get into that the university or not... so keep that in mind.

well i am junior in high skool and im in the ib program and have been since the 6th grade. ive also taken ap classes but 2 tell u the truth they are aout the same as far as an ib diploma and an advanced diploma. some colleges do not acknowledge ib diplomas as ib but only as advanced classes, but it depends on the skool. and wen ur ready 2 graduate frm high skool with an ib diploma there is alot of extra work. 4 starters between ur junior and senoir year u must complete 150 hrs of community service, take and extra 0 period class ur 11th grade yra, write an extended essay, and test out of each ib class u have and ur points from each class must equal 24 points or u cannot get an ib diploma. unless u dont mind all the extra work got 4 ib but other than that advanced is just as gud especially if u say their skool is better. by the way if u dont mind my askin where do u live but u can ask me ne more questions sbout ib ill be happy 2 answer

Go to the AP school with better teachers. Having great teachers will give you much more of an advantage than having an IB program with teachers who don%26#039;t teach.

I would go with the AP program because it seems better in the long run. Be with the smarter people.
