Do you think that doing good works will make god like you more?

Like extra credit. Or staying after school to help the teacher. Will god prefer you to other christians (or muslims or whatever) if you do MORE good works than others?

Is there some kind of rating system?

Different levels of salvation??

Do you think that doing good works will make god like you more?

Well, personally I thiALL HAIL THE HYPNOTOAD.

Do you think that doing good works will make god like you more?

I%26#039;d bring god an apple but that might be insulting after the Eve thing.

Do you think that doing good works will make god like you more?

No. Only way to get to heaven is by going by gods word. Ask for forgiveness pray, go to church. Good deeds wont get you anywhere.

Do you think that doing good works will make god like you more?

Getting people saved gives you another gem on your crown in heaven.

Sometimes it%26#039;s an obsession.

doing something helpful for another should never be about rewards...in this lifetime or in another supposed one to come....it completely renders the %26#039;good works%26#039; as mere devices of praise or reward.

Do you think that doing good works will make god like you more?

God%26#039;s love is unconditional. Like your mom (if you have a good mom). I%26#039;m sure he likes to see you do good stuff but he loves you anyway just the same.

Good works are for life here on earth. You realize that if you do something good, good comes of it. That%26#039;s why it%26#039;s good. The more good people do, the easier and better life is for everyone. Here on earth. It has nothing to do with the next place, whatever that is.

I was raised Jewish. Judaism is more about morals and ethics than about belief and doctrine. Jews are not as concerned with the next life, they%26#039;ll cross that bridge when they come to it. But for Jewish people it is required to do good deeds, %26#039;tsedaka%26#039;, sometimes translated as %26#039;acts of loving kindness%26#039;. It doesn%26#039;t buy your salvation, it just makes things better for people here.

First off there are NOT different levels of Salvation. You are saved by believing Jesus Christ died for you sins.

A rating system for what you did down here? Sure who knows. In the bible it does say you will be rewarded for your good works and works without faith is dead. But that is misconstrued often. Basically all that is saying (when taken in context :) ) is that if someone needs help and asks u for a favor go the extra mile and help. But no where does it say go out and seek out works. But if you were to be like %26quot;No I%26#039;m not helping you get away%26quot; yeah that would kill faith. No one would believe you or take you seriously as a Christian. God just wants you to live a lifestyle that brings people to him. I would say if he was going to have a rating system it would be more on how christ-like you lived your life over works. Works have nothing to do with how much he loves you and if you get saved. They have nothing to do with whether or not he likes you more. They have nothing to do with the stuff you ll get after you die.

Great question I think I can help you with. Salvation has nothing to do with good works. Man cannot earn his way to heaven, is why God in His mercy provided Jesus as the way to bridge the gap between man and God when sin separated us. Whereas, good works is a consequence of the faith and love we have for our Lord. Christians will not go to the great white throne judgement that unbelievers will all go to, only to hear those dreadful words from Jesus %26quot;Depart from me, I never knew you%26quot;. Christians will go to the Bema Seat Judgement which is the rewards judgement only for christians. There we will receive rewards for the good works we did for the name of Christ while we were on this earth. We will receive crowns. Some christians will not have many and will be sad at that time because we will put our crowns at the feet of Jesus. Some will have many crowns and will hear Jesus say %26quot;Well done, my faithful servant.%26quot; Hope this helps.
