Teachers I need your help....?

What woud you rate this: In the poem 閳ユ穾 Dream Deferred閳?Langston Hughes discusses dreams using a very negative outlook. He says what happens to a dream if you wait for too long. Similarly, Shel Silverstein also talks about dreams in his poem 閳ユ发oon-Catchin Net.閳?However, he speaks much more positively. While both poems tell about dreams not achieved, both authors go about their dreams not achieved in completely different ways.



閳ユ穾 Dream Deferred閳?has a very negative perspective on dreams. Hughes uses many similes in this poem. To show his negativity, he writes what happens to a dream deferred, 閳ユ竸oes it stink like rotten meat?閳?In other words does the dream just expire and get thrown out? Does it just become rotten?



In the poem 閳ユ发oon-Catchin Net閳?Shel Silverstein also writes about what will happen to a dream not achieved. Silverstein however, goes about it in a much more thumbs-up way. He uses a rhyming scheme in this playful poem. Silverstein aims high for the moon with his moon-catchi

It%26#039;s not saying much, but saying what it does say more than once. It doesn%26#039;t use specifics from both poems to back claims of positive or negative authorial attitude toward dreams put off.



What grade it merits depends a lot on what the exact assignment is, your educational level or grade, etc.
