Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

Do you support teenagers being given condoms in school?? With the rate of teenage pregnancies and std%26#039;s. I want to know what do you think??

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

Yes,... if they know they are available through the health office, and ASK for them. I don%26#039;t agree with them being standard issue like school supplies.

If they choose to have sex, even though too young, at least let them have the means to protect themselves.

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

I think so. But it didn%26#039;t matter for me because I never had sex in high school :(

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

i dont see a problem with it

they are given out as a joke at our school for big football games and such because our mascot is a trojan

but

at least its teaching kids to be safe.

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

tricky situation but yes I think if it is in a classroom like sex ed or health then yes it is ok... but just a teacher out of the blue then NO

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

Teenagers who want to have sex will regardless. I rather they have condoms in the off chance that some of them will use them.

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

they%26#039;re gonna have sex anyway, so they might as well be prepared

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

I think it%26#039;s absurd!!! I had to BUY my condoms in high school! They should have to do the same!!!!

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

well, I don%26#039;t think they should be given out at school b/c parents may not abide to it. I believe they should be able to be purchased by teenagers at local drug stores, or given out somewhere where teens aren%26#039;t required to be. Ultimately, I think kids should be informed to make their own decision.

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

I%26#039;ve thought about this quit a bit. I have a twelve year old son and I want him to be safe. I figure that if he really wants to have sex,( not now, in a few years!) that he%26#039;s going to find a way to do just that. So I support it. Whatever helps our kids to be safe is a good thing in my book.

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

I support it all the way. At least they would be getting THE TALK somewhere...

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

I do. I work in a Jr High and we have had 7 girls from the school become pregnant in the past 2 years. The kids today are growing up to fast. They are trying new things even before they are ready and don%26#039;t realize the affect that there choices are making on their lives. It%26#039;s sad. I%26#039;ve seen 6th graders come to school with love bites!

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

I think it%26#039;s great....

No glove no love kiddies!!

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

although i would say abstience is best, but we r living in a time where teens are so bombarded w/sex that it just makes it easier for them to have sex. so while i don%26#039;t condone fornication, passing out comdoms is a lot smarter than having to pay for a child that%26#039;s not mine and the prevention of std%26#039;s. it%26#039;s a wiser and smarter choice.

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

I do as long as it is on a voluntary basis. As long as the students know its available at the nurses office is all that matters. They can take it upon themselves to go and pick it up.

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

I%26#039;m kind of in between on this issue.

For one thing, about 65% of 15 year olds are sexually active. The percentage only climbs every year after that. I know some of them use protection but not all simply because it can be difficult to get condoms and birth control. So looking at it from that perspective, it might be better to give teenage kids condoms just to insure that they are protected.

However, there is still the 35% that are NOT sexually active. For whatever reason they choose to abstain. One reason might be because they are afraid of getting pregnant or getting STD%26#039;s. If they were to be given condoms then they might be more likely to have sex. Then, I%26#039;m not sure if it%26#039;s right to encourage it.

The fact of the matter is, teens will have sex, protected or not. I think it would be better to provide protection then not.

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

Yes, if teens are going to be engaged in sex whether you%26#039;d want them to, or not, it is best, if the parents are incapable, or unwilling - to have another responsible authority, as school is, teach them about protection.

Highly Controversial about Teachers.........???

Of course, most definitely! I also condone teen sex, always have, ever since I was a teenager! Sex is the greatest!!! Why would we want to prolong time before experiencing ecstacy? What if you die?
