ESL - How to make such a question .....?? Please help?

Dear English teachers:

I am trying to raise a question during the interview for interviewer. I am trying to ask...

How is the job rotation?

(I am trying to ask how many people worked for this position before and how often/soon did they quit this job? )

Can I say

1) How is the job rotation?

or

2) How is the job position flow rate?

Which one is correct? ....or any other better idea?

Neither 1 nor 2 are common in the USA.

These are some possibilities:

What is the job turnover ratio?

What is the job turnover rate?

What is the average tenure for this job?

On average, how long do people stay in this position before they leave?

Related questions might be:

Have there been some people that have held this job for a short period of time? If so, why did they leave so soon?

p.s. I%26#039;m not an English teacher

Well, if I had to ask that question that way, I would ask, %26quot;What is the turnover like in this position?%26quot; %26quot;Turnover%26quot; is the %26quot;rotation%26quot; or %26quot;flow rate%26quot; to which you%26#039;re referring.

However, some employers might find that question slightly offensive, as if you%26#039;re suggesting that they can%26#039;t keep employees. To ask it another way, I would ask %26quot;How long do most people remain in this job?%26quot; That%26#039;s more neutral.

What is the employee turnover rate? - Better choice

wait until they are really serious about you (not on first interview if there will be 2) before you ask, and do it gently as first answer says. you can find out what you need to but not too early or you will offend them.

Why are you asking this question at this time? It seems like an inappropriate question. It makes it sound like you will be in and soon out. Ask around. Ask the teachers that work there.

If you do, be up front and ask why do teacher leave this job? Is it because of the qualifications? Do they stay long?
